Position Title: Children’s Ministry Director
Reports To: English and Children Pastor
Work Continuity: 12 months
Work Extension: Possible
Work Arrangement: Part Time (12-15hr/week)
Compensation: $20-22 per hour

ROLE SUMMARY

The Children’s Ministry Director provides direction and oversight to the children’s ministry at Logos Baptist Church (York Region)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure all children’s ministry programs are carried out with excellence.
    a. Plan, organize, teach, delegate, participate in all children’s ministry programs at Logos Baptist Church (York Region), e.g. Sunday programs, VBS, camps, etc.
  2. Ministry Development / Roadmapping
    a. Cast vision and set direction for the children’s ministry in line with church vision
    b. Find (or develop) curriculum that fits the current needs of the children’s ministry
    c. Continually seek to improve children’s ministry programs
    d. Meet with Pastoral Team regularly to provide updates and feedback
  3. Serving Team Development
    a. Recruit, train, develop, and equip individuals to form a serving team of teachers, helpers, supporters, etc.
    b. Provide care, encouragement, and support for individuals in the serving team

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education & Experience:
    a. Training in relevant children’s ministry degree or program
    b. Previous children’s ministry experience
    c. Police check required, references upon request.
  2. Skills & Competencies
    a. Passion and enthusiasm for children and raising up the next generation
    b. Ability to plan, teach, delegate, and execute children’s ministry activities
    c. Ability to communicate effectively to children and their parents in English
    d. Ability to organize, schedule meetings for classes, teachers, and volunteers
    e. Ability to motivate and work with teachers and volunteers
    f. Ability to implement / update child safety policies
    g. Understanding of Children’s Ministry as a part of the discipleship process
    h. Firm grasp of technologies in communicating to staff, parents and children, e.g. Zoom, Whatsapp, Google suite, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
