Position Overview:
Full-time Mandarin Pastor/Minister – North York Christian Community Church (NYCCC)
We are looking a full-time Mandarin-speaking pastor/minister who has a clear vision for the development of overseas Mandarin-speaking churches. The ideal candidate will build disciples through biblical preaching ignited by the Holy Spirit, unify the congregation through pastoral visitation and care, and provide guidance through active listening—leading the Mandarin congregation toward healthy growth to fully participate in the Great Commission.
Core Responsibilities:
Preaching & Teaching: Under the leadership and support of the Senior Pastor, take responsibility for a portion of Sunday Preaching. Correctly interpret the truth and effectively apply biblical principles to the modern lives of believers.
Pastoral Care & Visitation: Devote ample time to deep personal and family visitations, with a particular focus on young families, mothers accompanying children for overseas studies, and seniors, fostering unity among congregants from diverse backgrounds with love.
Discipleship & Family Ministry: Focus on nurturing young families and young professionals; Promote “Family Altars” (Family Worship); equipe parents to be spiritual leaders at home; Strengthen biblical training for marriage and family; and build a healthy team of co-workers.
Team Collaboration: Work in close coordination with the English congregation, Cantonese congregation, and the entire pastoral team under the leadership of the Senior Pastor.
Qualifications:
Faith & Calling: Possess a clear calling and sound faith; agree with and sign the Statement of Faith of NYCCC and the Association of Chinese Evangelical Ministries (ACEM).
Credentials & Education: Open to both experienced Pastors or Ministers with mature pastoral potential. A degree from a recognized seminary is required (M.Div. or equivalent is preferred).
Personal Traits: Exceptional listening and communication skills; possess a clear vision for Mandarin ministry and spiritual leadership.
Language Proficiency: Proficient in Mandarin (Putonghua) for preaching and in-depth communication; capable of pastoral communication in English (Cantonese is not required).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pastoring overseas Chinese churches with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and dynamics of the overseas Mandarin-speaking community.
Experience in promoting family ministries or professional training in marriage and family counseling.
